Head of Retail

Based in Guildford, Surrey, our client is an exciting company looking for a Head of Retail join their team.

This role would suit an individual who can take initiative with the tendency to understand what needs to be accomplished and an analytical mind-set to logically analyse facts, data and situations. They are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and persistent despite encountering setbacks and obstacles.

Our client is a large international, travel & tourism company who have consistently been voted one of the best travel company’s in the world for nearly 20 years, which has been recognised through various awards.

The successful individual will have proven success in managing and motivating a sales team and have a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role, in any sales background. The candidate should understand and utilise customer, category and consumer insight and the ability to build sustainable relationships at all levels.

Duties will include:

* Provide input into the strategic Annual Operating Plan for relevant channel/account.
* To develop an annual sales plan for all ‘owned’ accounts ensuring the plans will drive improvement on all key metrics: profit, PAX, APD and NTR.
* Support the Sales Director to introduce commercial model for consortia, to include the planning and delivery of such commercial terms ensuring all paperwork post negotiations are delivered in a timely fashion.
* Develop commercially robust account plans based on solid insights.
* Develops appropriate promotional mechanics to drive profitability.
* Develop a non-co-op marketing support model for driving business.
* Work hand in glove with the Head of National Accounts and the Head of Planning and Sales Support to ensure seamless communication across the broader team ensuring uniformity with guidelines and working practices.
* Ensure that quarterly reviews are held with all assigned accounts to drive performance through effective plans and shared accountability.
* Commercial negotiations and terms to enable long term profitable growth whilst being conscious of the competitive environment. Ensure Business Partner agreements in place in a timely fashion.
* Work hand in glove with the Strategic Account Managers to ensure 100% alignment to the priorities of other Key retail accounts – TCCT and TUI.
* Provide leadership, motivation and personal development to the team of 4, including an on-going programme of mentoring and skill development, the setting of objectives and regular appraisal.
