WHAT IS WHYHOTEL?
WhyHotel is a venture-capital backed, DC-based startup that operates “turn-key, pop-up hotels” in newly built, vacant luxury apartments during their lease-up phase. Blurring the line between hospitality and home, our model provides the value and space of a home-share with the consistency of a luxury hotel. Thanks to WhyHotel, real estate developers now have a new way to leverage vacant units during lease-up and you have a new way to travel.
In addition, our new business arm, Hospitality Living, will deliver the first of its kind ground-up, flexible use buildings, targeted to launch in 2022. For more detail on WhyHotel and our hiring process, please read our Candidate Insider Playbook.
To ensure our portfolio of WhyHotel pop-up hotels meet revenue and RevPAR targets and create our initial pricing and revenue model that can be deployed with new hotel openings. You will play a critical part in helping WhyHotel successfully disrupted both the hospitality and real estate sectors by ensuring the revenue and occupancy of WhyHotel are constantly optimized.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
1. Within the first 4 weeks:
Oversee inventory and rate strategies for all your properties across:
Direct Bookings (Website and by Phone)
Third-party channels (OTAs, Homesharing Portals)
Managed Travel (Consortia, Corporate Travel, GDS)
2. Within the first 3 months:
Define, standardize, and track Revenue Management KPIs on daily, weekly and monthly basis
Ensure all distribution channels for your new hotels coming online in 2020 are setup and communicating effectively within 45 days to go-live, enabling pre-sell
Define competitor set and build pricing strategy for your hotels
Build plan for hitting Revenue and RevPAR targets
Begin forecasting future month performance for each property through quantitative market analysis
Help Sr Director of Revenue build ongoing processes and hardwire the right routines into the business. Help determine which tasks we can automate/outsource and which we need to retain
Collaborate with Data Scientist to build and test pricing algorithms
WHAT YOU WILL POSSESS TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Someone with 3+ years of revenue management and strategic rate pricing experience across multiple properties.

Salary: Commensurate with experience – please be sure to tell us your salary expectations in the application questions
Equity: All full-time employees are eligible for stock option grants upon joining our team and thereafter annually.
Benefits + Perks: We offer medical, dental, and vision coverage. You’re eligible to participate in our 401(k) after your first 6 months with us and we match up to 100% of every dollar you contribute to our 401(k) up to 4%. We’ll reimburse you $75/monthly for your cell phone or give you a new one.
Manager: You’ll report directly to Scott Keenan, Senior Director | Revenue Growth at WhyHotel.
Location: You will work out of our corporate headquarters in Washington D.C.
